Important U.S. Tariff Update – What It Means for Candletown Customers
Please note that this situation affects only the United States economic area and does not apply to other countries.
As of April 9, 2025, the United States has implemented significantly increased tariffs on all products imported from China. These new measures, part of an extended trade policy update, mean that shipments arriving from China are now subject to customs duties of up to 104%, regardless of the order's value. Previously, orders under $800 were exempt from such charges under the so-called de minimis rule—but that rule no longer applies.
What Does This Mean for You? Many of our products are shipped directly from China. While we strive to offer competitive prices and smooth delivery, these newly imposed tariffs may result in additional charges being collected by U.S. customs authorities upon delivery. Unfortunately, these charges are outside our control and must be paid by the recipient.
We understand this is a highly unusual and frustrating situation for our customers in the United States. The landscape of international shipping is shifting rapidly, and we’re doing our best to keep up and communicate clearly.
